Educators are under enough pressure and stress without having a single ADHD child in the class. Classes with more than 30 learners, inadequate teaching resources, severe limits on implementing discipline and consequences, and violent behaviour are just some of the more common problems.
Educators in South Africa are not trained to understand and deal with ADHD. This alone has the potential to have severe and lasting negative effects on any ADHD child.
ADHD children are disruptive. They demand a huge amount of attention, have rapid mood swings, and don't pay attention.
LADD® offers a 2 hour ADHD seminar for educators.
Included in this seminar are the following topics:
- ADHD - What It Is and Isn't
- Co-Occurring Conditions
- The LADD® ADHD Treatment Wheel - THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET!
- Practical Classroom Tools for managing ADHD in the Classroom
What we finds works best is to do the Educators Seminar (which is charged for) and a FREE 1 hour overview talk to parents in the same week. It gets everyone on the same page at the same time.
The Educators receive certificates of attendance and handouts.
